    ABHES provides a variety of training workshops throughout the year for its member institutions and programs; schools interested in applying for a new grant of accreditation; and those who just want to learn more about ABHES and its accreditation procedures.

    Note: A representative from each campus seeking an initial or renewed grant of accreditation is required to attend the accreditation workshop prior to submission of the Self Evaluation Report (SER).

    ATTENTION

    • If you plan to register multiple people for different workshops, please read carefully and be prepared to provide the required contact information for each person.

    • Registration for all workshops requiring payment must be completed no later than 30 days from the date of the workshop! An overall $50 late fee will be assessed for each person registering within the 30 day timeframe for all workshops requiring payment. Register early, as space is limited.

    Surgical Technology Programmatic Training and Assessment (4 hours - No registration Fee)
    This workshop will train participants to become an ABHES evaluator for surgical technology programs. You will be trained on the ABHES general accreditation standards applicable to all programs, and those specific to surgical technology. Policies and procedures governing site visits will also be discussed. Learn how and where to find visitation report answers, gain expertise in report writing, and ways to address common concerns while avoiding areas of risk. (Target audience: Current practitioners or educators in the surgical technology field)
      
    Team Leader Training Workshop
    (1:00p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2010 - No Fee) Description
    Team Leader Training Workshop (4 hours - No registration fee)
    This workshop will train participants to become an ABHES team leader to participate on accreditation site visits. If new to serving as a team leader for ABHES, you will be trained to comprehend the accreditation standards, learn how and where to find visitation report answers, gain expertise in report writing, and learn how to address common concerns and avoid areas of risk. If you are an experienced team leader, this workshop will reacquaint you to the visit process expectations and explain the new accreditation standards soon to be effective. (Target audience: Individuals who possess expertise in school administration)
      
    Program Effectiveness Plan Workshop
    (8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2010 - $250) Description
    Program Effectiveness Plan Workshop (4 hours - $250)
    ABHES requires its accredited institutions and programs to develop and maintain a Program Effectiveness Plan for each program offered in lieu of the previously required Institutional Effectiveness Plan. Learn what ABHES' expectations are for these plans and obtain suggestions on best practices for creating effective plans without overloading your staff and other resources.
      
    Revised Accreditation Manual Orientation Session
    (1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2010 - No Fee) Description
    Revised Accreditation Manual Orientation Session (4 hours - No Fee)
    This session will provide a detailed overview of the revisions to the 16th edition of the Accreditation Manual, specifically focusing on the accreditation standards and the differences from the previous edition. The session will clearly describe the differing requirements for those schools seeking or holding institutional and/or programmatic accreditation.

    Note: The Joint Accrediting Agency Reception will be held 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010. All ABHES member institutions, programs, and workshop attendees are welcome to attend. All events are being held just prior to the Career College Association (CCA) convention.

    Late Fees: Registration for all workshops requiring payment must be completed no later than May 6, 2010. An overall $50 late fee will be assessed for each person registering after May 6, 2010 for all workshops requiring payment. Register early, as space is limited.

    Workshop Late Fee Disclosure
    All workshops requiring payment must be received no later than January 8, 2010! All registrations received after the deadline will be assessed a $50 late fee per person.

    Refund and Transfer Policy
    If you register for an event requiring a registration fee and are not able to attend the event, your registration can be transferred to another person or you may cancel in writing. In either case, please send written notice to ABHES postmarked no later than January 8, 2010. A $50 processing fee will be retained for all cancellations. Workshop fees can be credited toward a future workshop at no additional charge. No refunds will be made for cancellations made after January 8, 2010.
