Evaluator Training Workshop (8am to 12pm)
This workshop will train participants to serve on accreditation site visits. Participants will be taught how and where to find visitation report answers, gain expertise in report writing, and learn how to address common concerns while avoiding areas of risk. Note: There is no registration fee to attend this workshop. (Target audience: Individuals who possess expertise in School Administration and/or a specific program fields (e.g., medical assisting, dental assisting, nursing, diagnostic medical
sonography, massage therapy, or surgical technology).
Team Leader Evaluator Training (1pm to 3:30pm)
This workshop will train participants to serve as team leaders on ABHES accreditation site visits. Participants will be exposed to key practices for success in serving in the capacity of team leader, including a review of the role and responsibilities of team leader, communication issues specific to team leaders, and ABHES policies, procedures and standards. Note: There is no registration fee to attend this workshop. As a prerequisite to register for this workshop, attendees must have completed the Evaluator Training Workshop. (Target audience: Individuals who have conducted evaluation visits for ABHES or other nationally-recognized accrediting agencies and possess excellent organizational,
administrative, and leadership skills)
Revised Accreditation Manual Orientation (1pm to 3:30pm)
This workshop will provide a detailed overview of revisions to the new Accreditation Manual, effective January 1, 2010, specifically focused on the accreditation standards. The session will clearly describe the differing requirements for those schools seeking or holding institutional and programmatic accreditation. Note: There is no registration fee to attend this workshop. (Target audience: Individuals responsible for accreditation compliance from institutions and programs seeking ABHES accreditation or currently accredited by ABHES).
Membership Meeting (3:30pm to 5pm)
ABHES brings together commissioners and staff to update its membership on accomplishments, tasks at hand, and issues facing ABHES and its accredited institutions and programs. Commissioner elections will also be held for two ownership representative positions. This is a must-attend event for ABHES members!
