09-25-2010Annual Report & Financial Statement Update

July 23, 2010 Annual Report The 2009-2010 ABHES Annual Report will be completed and submitted online this year.   In early September your institution will receive an email from ABHES with your institution’s log in and password to begin the submission process.    In addition to the Annual Report being completed and submitted online we will be requiring all institutions and programs to submit back-up documentation for reported outcomes (e.g., retention, credentialing/licensure, placement).  These will be required to be submitted separately at the end of the report.  Your annual report will not be considered complete and will not be accepted if these items are not...More

Notice of Proposed Rulemaking Published on June 18, 2010 Addressing 13 out of the 14 Program Integrity Issues On June 18, 2010, the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on the 13 out of 14 program integrity issues that were the subject of negotiations during the months of November 2009 through January 2010 was published in the Federal Register.  The NPRM only partially addresses the 14th issue on “gainful employment”   The Department is proposing to require proprietary institutions of higher education and postsecondary vocational institutions to provide prospective students with their programs’ graduation and placement rates, beginning no later than June 30, 2013,...More

MEMORANDUM June 11, 2010 The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) recently amended a number of its policies and procedures, found in Chapters I and III of the Accreditation Manual, 15th Edition.   The attached document shows those sections of the Accreditation Manual that changed, with the new language underlined and deleted language struck. These amendments do not affect accreditation standards, therefore no comment is being solicited and the amendments are effective immediately. The Accreditation Manual, 16th Edition, is effective July 1, 2010, and will replace the 15th edition at www.abhes.org later this month. The 8TH Annual National Conference on Allied Health Education February 9-11, 2011 We are pleased to announce that the ABHES Annual Conference will be held February 9-11, 2011, at the New Orleans Marriott in the infamous French Quarter.
