Delaware Valley Academy of Medical and Dental Assisting, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) received a report from the Pennsylvania Department of Education that Delaware Valley Academy of Medical and Dental Assisting ceased operations, either temporarily or permanently. Even temporary closure of an institution is not permissible under ABHES’ accreditation requirements; therefore, the institution’s grant of accreditation was relinquished by ABHES effective May 6, 2011, without a right of appeal. Following enactment of new Bylaws the Commission brings its present eleven-seat composition to a total of thirteen seats. ABHES initiated calls for nominations in January and March 2011 for both elected and appointed commissioner seats.
