ABHES to Participate in N.W. Career Colleges Federation Conference
The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) will participate in the accrediting agency session on Wednesday, June 16, 1-3pm, sponsored by the Northwest Career Colleges Federation at its annual conference. The conference is being held June 16-18, 2010, at the Hilton Hotel, Portland, Oregon (503.226.1611). Additional information on the conference can be found at www.nwcareercolleges.org.
Michael White, Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs, will discuss the new accreditation standards and review their application to institution and to programs seeking ABHES accreditation. Mr. White will also discuss state regulation of health care education with particular emphasis on what schools and the Federation can do to promoter responsible regulation of health care programs. Institutions and programs accredited by ABHES are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about recent changes to ABHES accreditation policies, procedures, and standards and to address any comments or questions to Mr. White.
As a reminder, substantively revised accreditation standards, including new program-specific standards for dental assisting and pharmacy technology programs, effective July 1, 2010, were sent to each accredited institution and program and are posted at www.abhes.org.
